Christmas 2008

We had a good Christmas this year, filled with different activities. Paiton got a Leapster from Santa among many other gifts. We tried to stay away from buying the kids a lot of junk. I got a nice flatscreen TV and a crockpot but also some other pretty cool things. I would have to say it was a success. We were able to make it to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights and then Paiton got invited to a Christmas Party where Santa showed up. It was fun. And it's more exciting now that the kids are getting older and they get really excited about it.

Home Sweet Home

This has to be one of the most exciting times in my life. I bought my first place! It has been a little bit of a project for me. Did a lot of cleaning and painting to make it feel more like home to us. I had a lot of help from my mom and then Jason and Steven helped bring in my furniture and Lyndsy helped with painting. It was exhausting but fun at the same time. I had already planned on a few changes before I even got the keys to the place. I'll probably have some tile put in and maybe update the bathroom. I also want to work on my back patio area. It's a very convenient location for me and there's a playground right next to it which works out great for Paiton and the niece and nephews when they come over. I can't get over how excited this has made me!!!

Halloweeeennnnnnnnggggggg

This year we chose for Paiton to be a kitty cat, made things pretty simple. She had a good time in the Parade at school as well as trick or treating. Next year I'm sure we'll pick something a little more exciting.

First Day of Kindergarten

I can't believe my baby is going to Kindergarten! I'm excited but kind of sad at the same time, wished they'd stay little for a bit younger. I can't wait to hear about the things she's learning and for when she starts reading though. I guess it's all downhill from here? They really do grow fast. I'm happy that she's able to go to school with her cousin, not to mention the same elementary that me and my siblings went to when we were little. I guess we'll see how it goes....

Disneyland!!!

On a wim, I had the brilliant idea to ride down with my brother in the work truck to California so I could take Paiton to Disneyland. Paiton had never been and it had been years for myself. We stopped at the beach first so she could see what the Ocean was like. Then we got a room and the next morning walked over to Disneyland. We had a blast! Thunder Mountain was her favorite ride and it took some convincing to get her to go on Pirates Of The Carribean but she loved it afterwards. It was a really good experience and I'm so happy we were able to do it. Something neither of us will probably forget.

We heard they were coming to town so we had to take the girls. Paiton was just thrilled because Tinkerbell was hosting it. We had a lot of fun and the show was entertaining. The girls even each got a souvenir. Definitely worth the experience, hope to go the next time!

Birthday Party

Paiton turned 5 on March 13th. We had a birthday party at Jungle Jim's Playland. The kids had a blast. They started with rides and then opened presents and had cake and ice cream. All the kids took turns hitting the Pinata but Paiton was able to break it open. We all had a good time and closed the place down. This was the first big birthday party she's had and it was a success!
